MALA provides comprehensive legislative and regulatory representation before the Missouri Legislature and the state agencies that regulate long term care providers. The success that the assisted living industry has enjoyed in the legislative arena is possible only through membership, which finances our legislative and regulatory operations. The successful promotion of assisted living has resulted in increased funding and thwarted unnecessary regulation that creates additional cost to running your community. Legislators and regulators are realizing that assisted living, when appropriate, is an excelling alternative to institutional care. Independence, integrity, home-like setting, and affordability are all the buzzwords that are becoming the mantra of our industry.

MALA’s membership is comprised of residential care and assisted living communities plus associates that have an interest in the industry. There are 21 members elected to serve on the Board of Directors. Board members, with the assistance of the Executive Director, act as a liaison between the industry and regulating agencies. MALA is the largest network of assisted living providers and supporters in the state of Missouri.

Job Description :

Seeking a qualified individual responsible for the implementation of policies set forth by the Board of Directors, as well as annual goals and objectives. The Executive Director is charged with financial, program, and administrative management of the association.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the overall leadership of staff in activities that accomplish the association’s goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the financial management of the association, including the development and implementation of the annual budget.
  • Serve as liaison with other organizations and regulatory agency staff.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the policies and programs approved by the Board, and working together with the Board, committees of the Board, and other committees in implementing such policies and programs.
  • Providing the following services: member, financial, administrative, managerial, public relations, networking, legislative, regulatory, educational, and program planning.

Qualifications :

  • Past Management Experience
  • Knowledge of the state legislative process and state regulations a plus

Compensation and Benefits :

$70,000 starting pay (negotiable based on qualifications and experience) with benefits available.
