Job Description :

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Hourly Production Assembler for its Jefferson City, Missouri location. This role is responsible for performing technical studies, tests, and special audits and provide department with mechanical technical support in a variety of functions according to established Engineering principles and procedures. Assist other functions within plant, in training and provide inspection information to shop personnel.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for proper use and maintenance of required personal safety protective equipment and understanding proper hazardous material usage.
  • Check material/units to assure completion according to specifications. Identify and report material irregularities and equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel and/or department.
  • Interact with customers, suppliers, inspectors, engineering, marketing, purchasing, and manufacturing to solve problems.
  • Develop criteria to perform inspections of materials and units to pinpoint problem areas and provide guidance for correction.
  • Perform special audits and provide department with mechanical technical support.
  • Order materials and supplies as needed. Complete required feedback and all necessary manufacturing information documentation daily or as required.
  • Work with tensile tester, resistance bridge, protractor, dielectric tester, hardness tester, torque wrench, computer, CRT, datamyte collector, coordinate measuring machine(CMM), and various measuring devices.
  • Transformer oil, paint, transformer units, and various raw and in process materials.

Qualifications :

  • High School Graduation or equivalent by General Equivalency Diploma or certification of graduation requirements. Effective for personnel hired after 1 January 1995 and minimum 3 months experience with manufacturing work.
  • Ability to work all shifts and overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to work well with others and perform high-quality work in a safe manner.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and to meet production goals.
  • Successful completion of the post-offer pre-employment process (including background check, drug screen, and physical).
  • Previous manufacturing, welding or electrical assembly experience is desirable, especially with the production of power-oriented products.
  • Local candidates are preferred no relocation assistance will be offered.
  • On the job training required. Job performance assessed by annual review and additional training assigned if required.
  • Certificate of completion of two years of mechanical engineering related training or 3 years experience in mechanic engineering test field. Must have a working knowledge in the areas of mechanical drawing, algebra, geometry, statistics, computer usage, and mechanical principles.
