Position Overview

We are hiring a skilled Drywall Installer to join our high‑performing, detail‑oriented team. This role is essential in preparing surfaces to perfection so our painters can deliver flawless finishes. You’ll work across Jefferson City and surrounding areas on both residential and commercial projects.

This position requires craftsmanship, consistency, and a commitment to excellence—exactly what Equality Painting stands for.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, hang, tape, mud, and finish drywall to a smooth, paint‑ready surface.
• Perform drywall repairs, patching, texturing (including hopper gun work), and surface corrections.
• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces, including sanding, priming, and cleaning as needed.
• Assist with renovation tasks including trim carpentry, fixture installation, and basic maintenance.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively (drywall tools, sanders, pressure washers, etc.).
• Follow all prep requirements, design plans, material specifications, and company standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following all PPE and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure projects meet the highest quality standards.
• Uphold ZERO TOLERANCE for drugs and alcohol on any job site.

Qualifications

• Proven drywall installation and finishing experience.
• Familiarity with residential construction or remodeling (preferred).
• Strong understanding of prep work, sanding grits, caulking types, texturing methods, and sheen levels.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, drywall, carpentry, and maintenance tasks.
• Ability to measure accurately and apply basic construction math.
• Strong communication skills for working with team members and clients.
• High attention to detail with pride in delivering top‑tier results.
• Willingness to work longer days (up to 10 hours) and occasional Saturdays when needed to stay on schedule.
• Must be able to commute to Jefferson City, MO.
